The Touring Company

The Shakti Dance Company tours solo, groups (2 to 20) and thematic dance musicals, all with orchestral music accompaniment.  Shakti's thematic production tours are seasonal.  Kindly enquire about the production that is currently on tour.

Lila was the first student that Viji Prakash commenced her Shakti School with, 27 years ago. Having danced worldwide, touring with her guru and the Shakti Dance Company, Lila after a long absence from performing, will dance a specially choreographed presentation celebrating the Joy of Dance, in her Life.

Guru CV Chandrasekhar, a renowned Bharata Natyam exponent of India, will present "Eternal and Evolving"

Guru Chandrasekhar is an acclaimed dancer, choreographer and teacher, whose interpretation of Bharata Natyam is very popular worldwide. Of Kalakshetra, Ex-Dean of the dept of Dance- Baroda Univ., Guru Chandrasekhar brings to Bharata Natyam, be it performance or teaching, a great sense of exhileration- passion for perfection of form, technique, and expression.
On invitation from Viji Prakash, Guru Chandrasekhar and his wife, Jaya Chandrasekhar, have come to Los Angeles to do a special dance camp with the senior dancers of the Shakti School of Bharata Natyam, several of whom will also dance with him, at this performance.
