| PRESS RELEASE BHAGVAD GITA Tour 2007 After a successful tour of the USA and Canada in September 2002, and later in 2003 and 2004, the BHAGVAD GITA triumphantly returns as "Dharma ?" in 2007 which is an adaptation from the earlier version. BHAGVAD GITA - A dance musical based on the Indian epic the Mahabharata.. Conceived and choreographed by internationally acclaimed dancer Viji Prakash, it features an ensemble of twenty-five brilliant dancer and musicians. Viji Prakash teams with Ajit Bhaskaran Das of Malaysia - a leading Bharata Natyam dancer; Mythili Prakash - MGR award winner for the best dancer of the Madras Music Academy, Chennai, and the outstanding dance ensemble of the Shakti Dance Company, Los Angeles. Famed Hindustanu vocalist Lakshmi Shankar, the voice of Sir Richard Attenborough's record Oscar winning film GANDHI, is the lead vocalist. Debur Srivathsa, renowned vocalist & music composer for dance, Veda Krishnan, Narasimha Murthy - flute, Krishna Kutty - violin, create the most enchanting soulful music. The Bhagvad Gita is the Song Divine; that Lord Krishna spoke to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Essentially about the human conflict between dharma (righteousness) and adharma (unrighteousness), a conflict that is familiar to every one of us in our daily endeavors, the Bhagvad Gita is ancient, yet always contemporary. Conceived as a dance musical, the Bhagvad Gita is a multimedia presentation with stunning costumes and jewelry , specially created stage effects, props and lighting. The Bhagvad Gita is an amazing synergy of dance, theater, music and chanting.... a celebration of the divine human spirit! The dancers of the Shakti Dance Company include Uma Kadekodi, Ghaya Jeykumar, Sai Patil, Nanditha Raghavan, Suman Madhunuri, Manisha Parekh, Sheila Rajashekara, Sheila Nathan, Kanti Charugundala, Reema Shah, Raagini Shah, Madhavi Venkatesh, Monica Agarwal, Nina Agrawal.
