Janani Muthaiya has been studying Bharata Natyam under the tutelage of Guru Viji Prakash since the age of 12. She has performed with the Shakti School of Bharata Natyam at various venues including the Hollywood Bowl and has participated in Emerging Voices presented by the World Festival of Sacred Music.

Nikita started learning dance at Shakti School of Bharata Natyam when she was 7 years old. She immediately took a liking to this dance form and has been pusuin it ever since with great enthusiasm.

She has had the privilege of performing at various events and venues such as Rath Yatra in Venice, Oodles of Noodles, Emerging Voices, Hollywood Bowl, Made in Mumbai, Shivrathri et Malibu Temple, Chinese New Year Celebration at Buddhist Temple, Family Fest in Cerritos and Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena. She has also beena part of the Shakti Dance Company's production of Ramayana which was showcased in Ft Lauderdale and New Jersey.
