Shantala Subramanya, is the sister of eminent flautist Shashank. She was trained by eminent performers -vocalist Late Sri. Vairamangalam Lakshminarayanan and is currently pursuing vocal music training under Sri O.S.Thyagarajan and Sri Sriram Parasuram..

Spontaneity and sweetness marked Shantala’s flute recital. “Heard melodies are sweet; but those unheard are sweeter.” Shantala Subramaniam belied these immortal words of Keats. Her flute played on, not only to the sensual ears, but to the soul and spirit.
